“We choose to go to the Moon in this decade…” sound the words of President Kennedy. It’s September 1962. The era of the space race has just begun. This is the era that will send a man to the Moon, push the technological boundaries ceaselessly forward, and perhaps even leave the mighty Soviet Union in economic ruin. Who will be the first to subdue the final frontier? Do you have what it takes to lead a budding space agency into a new age of human achievement?
Space Race: The Card Game takes place during the first seven decades of the space conquest, and players become directors of newly established Space Agencies. Their goal is to expand them and to achieve astonishing breakthroughs. During the game, players will develop their Space Agencies by acquiring various cards (engineers, technologies, space programs) from a shared pool of cards called Universe.
This game is based on finding synergies and constructing powerful combinations out of different abilities. There is no guaranteed winning strategy: players have to respond to an ever changing environment in order to identify the best course of development while competing with their opponents for the most interesting discoveries.

Each game is completely different and there’s no definite winning strategy. You can play it over and over again, and with a playing time of about 40 minutes, you’ll get to have plenty of shots at conquering the universe.
The artworks by Dalibor Krch make this game feel truly special. They’ll lead you through the entire era of space conquest up until this day. But be careful – it’s easy to get lost in their beauty.
Space Race may be complex like Curiosity, but it will fit comfortably into your bag! You really don’t need Saturn V to lift off with this game.
Listen here, director. It’s up to you to choose which way the Agency will progress, so prepare wisely. What’s that? You haven’t read the mission briefing, yet? Sigh… Well, head straight to Rahdo to watch the playthrough of Space Race: The Card Game, that will get you all caught up!
