We hope you are doing well and have fun playing games! It’s been a month since our last update, and as we promised, we’re thrilled to bring you more exciting news about the new chapter in the Project L universe. Last time we showed you the first sneak peek of what the game looks like.
Today, we are bringing more news to the table and a heartwarming story to top it off!

In the last newsletter, we mentioned that we are on the fence between two names. One of them was more playful than the other, while the other held the clean standards of the previous generations of Project L. Naming itself is an extremely important process and while it seems trivial there are a ton of factors that weigh in on the decision. “The biggest challenge was to identify a term that captured the essence of the new game without delving into complex mechanics. You can choose only one or two words, and they must also sound cool,” says Dora Pružincová, our copywriting star. We believe that we successfully achieved that. The name of the game and the box design go hand in hand. So without further ado drum roll please 🥁🥁🥁 Welcome SQUARE ONE to the Boardcubator family!

A few months back, we shared a heartwarming story from the board game community. It featured John, who forged meaningful connections with troubled youth through Project L. This inspired us to launch “Board Game Stories,” inviting you to share how board games have touched your lives.
Following this spirit, we visited a school for mentally and physically challenged children in Brno, our hometown, donating two Project L games.
Our visit gave us a chance to play a game with the children. Despite their disabilities, they grasped the rules surprisingly well. Within a couple of rounds, most of them were playing by themselves! Their joy of play was infectious and the whole visit turned out to be an unforgettable experience.
Project L has proven itself to be a game for all and these incredible kids now have a new way to play and share smiles with one another.
As we wrap up this update, we’re buzzing with excitement for what’s to come.
We’re confident to say that Square One is a game for everyone. We can’t wait to see you enjoying the game with your friends, kids, and grandmas alike!
